OMR North America: Visit by the Secretary of Commerce of the State of Indiana

02 September 2020

OMR North America recently received a visit from the Secretary of Commerce (State of Indiana) Mr. Jim Schellinger, to congratulate us on the new investment launched by OMR for the production of the Jeep Grand Cherokee WL75 chassis, which will be supplied to FCA North America starting 2021.

The project involves the doubling of the OMR Speedway plant and the installation of highly automated lines for welding, assembling, and machining.

In addition to the new plants, more than 60 specialized operators are expected to be hired to strengthen the current staff.

The new generation of the Grand Cherokee model will arrive in the third quarter of 2021. The new large SUV will be entirely revised with a decisive change of technology compared to the old platform which is entirely replaced by the new one derived from "Giorgio" (the same as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio) specially revised.
