HPE: TOWARDS ELECTRIC MOBILITY
HPE: TOWARDS ELECTRIC MOBILITY

As reported by Corriere della Sera, Hpe, a company founded in 2010 by Engineers Piero Ferrari and Marco Bonometti, is betting on the design of the electric Powertrain in Modena.

With 15 employees, the company now has 300 of which 250 are engineers who design high performance engines for Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Yamaha, Harley-Davidson. Until the other day it was just about internal combustion engines. The big bet was made in 2020, in the middle of the Covid crisis, with an investment of one million euros on a fourth "cell" for the design of electric motors.

«Now 35 engineers work on this supply chain. For four different customers we are developing eight types of electric motor», says Andrea Bozzoli, CEO and partner of Hpe together with Piero Ferrari and Marco Bonometti.

INCREASED ELECTRICITY: RISKS FOR COMPANIES
INCREASED ELECTRICITY: RISKS FOR COMPANIES

The issue of increases in electricity and gas, and all that this entails for businesses, families and workers, was widely debated during the episode of Restart, broadcast on Rai 2 on 19 January.

The President of OMR Marco Bonometti spoke with the Deputy Minister for Economic Development Alessandra Todde and the Secretary General of UIL Pierpaolo Bombardieri, who during the debate brought back the voice of companies at this critical moment.

"We had to order problems: an immediate one, since companies are no longer able to move forward, so it is necessary to intervene immediately on the reduction of the bill, with proposals that could dare to timely such as the use of the market stabilizing reserve to bring down the price of CO2, the increase in drilling, the use of gas reserves and the use of extra-profits from energy companies. We are in a situation where companies that paid one million a month for energy today find themselves paying five million. In this situation, we risk not reaping the benefits of the recovery, because this is another pandemic that is putting Italian industry in crisis. Then we have to make some final choices, which are decisive in reversing the situation and making up for the mistakes made in the past, for example with nuclear energy,” says President Bonometti.

«If we do not decide and start with alternative solutions, we will always be late, with the risk of witnessing the relocation or closure of many companies every day. In our country, favorable conditions for doing business have been lacking for too long ».

BONOMETTI:
BONOMETTI: "I'M LEAVING A STRONGER CONFINDUSTRIA LOMBARDIA, IN AN ITALY WITH MORE CONFIDENCE"

"From tomorrow I will return to the most beautiful job in the world, that of the industrialist. I will be sure that all of you will give your best in fulfilling this mission for our country. Let's roll up our sleeves and move on! "

With these words Marco Bonometti concluded his mandate as President of Confindustria Lombardia. The assignment does not exhaust Bonometti's commitment to the association system: the President of Confindustria Carlo Bonomi has in fact appointed him a member of the General Council of the Association, among the six presidential nominated members.

At the time of the handover with his successor, Francesco Buzzella, Bonometti recalled the main moments and issues addressed during the four years at the helm of the most important regional entrepreneurial association.

«I leave a stronger, more authoritative and listened Confindustria Lombardia, which has always defended businesses and work. Our strength has been and must always be cohesion and unity of purpose. United we have also been able to overcome the pandemic, resisting earlier and reacting today ».

 AUTOMOTIVE TABLE
AUTOMOTIVE TABLE "PRODUCTION AND INDUSTRIAL ASPECTS" - MINISTRY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The operational meeting of the automotive table convened by the Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Gilberto Pichetto, took place yesterday at the Mise, with the aim of sharing with all the relevant stakeholders the fundamental steps for the relaunch of one of the sectors strategic aspects of the country's economy. The meeting, chaired by Pichetto, was attended by representatives of the main trade associations, companies and trade unions.

Deputy Minister Pichetto, during the interview, argued that Italy is facing an epochal technological transition. While the transition from traditional to electric cars will have undoubted beneficial effects from an environmental point of view, on the other hand it raises great questions about employment in the sector: the goal is that the price to be paid does not fall on the shoulders of families and of the industrial categories most in difficulty. The Government considers it essential that compliance with the principle of technological neutrality, that is the green transition of mobility, must also be sustainable from an industrial, infrastructural and social point of view.

Marco Bonometti, as President of the OMR Group, spoke at the table: "The EU proposals will have a strong impact on the automotive sector, risking to wipe out the car industry in Europe. It is important to define sustainable rules to allow companies to plan their future and that of their employees. This is why we are asking for a European industrial policy project for the car, to defend the competitiveness of our continent towards America and China. We also insist on the need to share a single proposal with the other European states, the European Confindustria and with the various trade associations representing the automotive supply chain. The industrialists are in favor of decarbonisation, but without favoring one technology over all the others that have the same objectives ”.

HPE COXA IS RECOGNIZED FOR MEKANE' (HIGH EDUCATION SCHOOL)

HPE COXA, a company of the OMR Group, received a recognition from the University of Bologna in recent days. The Rector Francesco Ubertini handed over to Eng. Bozzoli, CEO of the company, a parchment as a sign of thanks for having contributed to the birth of MEKANÉ, the High Performance Engineering School.

Born from the collaboration between HPE COXA and Unibo, the higher education school MEKANÉ, which in ancient Greek means "machine", "engine", aims to increase the skills of the engineers of the Modenese company through the organization and provision of advanced post-graduate specialist training.

Higher vocational training for company employees is, in fact, one of Alma Mater's strategic objectives and is part of an approach and dialogue with companies.

"I am flattered to receive an important recognition from a prestigious university such as the University of Bologna - said Andrea Bozzoli - but I am above all proud that HPE COXA has created together with the University a virtuous and innovative initiative for the university world and for that of companies ".

"This recognition is significant for us, as our commitment to training and young people is appreciated, bringing the university world closer to business," said the Vice President of HPE COXA Marco Bonometti.
