OMR History

HISTORY

The century-long history of this Italian company is linked to the events that took place throughout the country.

The First World War had ended just a year before the Tirini brothers started producing machines for working marble in Rezzato, a town in the province of Brescia.

During the Second World War the company was involved in manufacturing weapons and only after the war it turned its experience to mechanical processing and approached the automotive industry.

In 1955 the company name became Officine Meccaniche Rezzatesi and began to collaborate with OM, now a part of Iveco, at the time the largest plant in the province and cradle of the mechanical engineering industry of Brescia.

The ‘70s marked the period of economic boom and mass motorization and in that climate of enthusiasm, ideas and great energy OMR decided to leverage its skills to expand its production into other sectors.
